On August 9, the Beliefs Column of the Los Angeles Times highlighted the SRF World Convocation, which had just concluded in downtown Los Angeles. Underscoring Paramahansa Yogananda’s principle of the unity of all religions, the article gives an overview of many aspects of the SRF teachings, plus personal accounts of Convocation participants.   

A segment of KABC’s Eye on LA features SRF Lake Shrine. In this television interview with Brother Balananda, viewers tour the Lake Shrine while finding out about its history, and also hear of the remarkable peace experienced by visitors to Lake Shrine from around the globe. The segment, which aired during the week of Convocation, can still be viewed online at Eye on LA. 

The “Is That You God?” section of San Diego News Network (SDNN) presents the Encinitas Meditation Gardens in an episode entitled “Meditation at the Self- Realization Fellowship in Encinitas.” In this interview, Brother Ramananda explains how the SRF meditation techniques provide the means to change the limited human consciousness into the unlimited Cosmic Consciousness of God.   

The New York Times also recently highlighted the Encinitas Ashram Center with its well-known meditation gardens. An article in the August 7 edition of the Times about coastal San Diego County describes the gardens as “blissful.” You can read the article online on The NY Times website.
