Our thanks to those of you who were able to join us at the annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, held on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in Westwood, on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27. Considered one of the country’s premier literary events, the Festival featured exciting author events, book signings, storytelling for children, cooking demonstrations, poetry readings, and the prestigious LA Times Book Prizes Presentation. The weekend celebration of books was a free public event and played host to more than 130,000 book lovers over the two days—making it one of the largest public book events in the United States.
Exhibiting for its twelfth consecutive year, Self-Realization Fellowship joined 300 other exhibitor booths representing booksellers, publishers, and literacy and cultural organizations. The SRF booth was located adjacent to our friends the Bodhi Tree Bookstore. We sold out of a wide variety of our books in both English and Spanish, with special discounts being offered for “almost perfect” titles. Staff members were on hand to greet Festival attendees, introduce them to SRF, and answer questions about the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. The event was a huge success and we look forward to next year’s festival and another opportunity to share information about Paramahansaji’s spiritual classics and recent releases with many Los Angeles book enthusiasts.
