Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) is committed to safeguarding the privacy of its online users' personal information.

Please read the following policy, which we have developed for our website, to understand the rules and procedures followed by SRF in handling personal information provided to us over the Internet.

What information does SRF collect and how is it used?

While we do not generally require that you provide us with personally identifiable information in order to visit and use our website, please note that to participate in some activities, such as free literature requests, retreat reservations, and ordering from our online catalog, it is necessary for you to provide this information.  The information we collect from our visitors helps us personalize and continually improve our online services to you and to respond to your requests.  We only collect information for the purpose of processing reservations/orders and for sending solicited email responses to your requests. We do not collect any personal information, including your email address, without your prior knowledge and consent.

For each visitor to SRF’s Website, SRF’s Web server automatically recognizes, collects and/or stores information such as the visitor’s IP address/domain name combination and any referring sites to keep track of where our visitors come from and to help diagnose problems with our server.

SRF may ask you to provide “personal information,” meaning individually identifiable information such as your email address, name, mailing address, telephone number, credit card number, or persistent identifier (such as customer number held in a “cookie,” explained below), to enable you to fill out a registration or request form, or to order products and services using our Website.  SRF may combine the information you provide on our Website with information we may collect offline from you or from third parties so that we can more effectively tailor our site, services, and offerings to you.

When you visit SRF’s Website, we may use an industrywide technology called “cookies” which stores certain information and allows us to customize your experience to better match your interests and preference or to simply facilitate your signing in to use the services.  This does not in any way collect personal data about you or your computer when you are browsing our site.  No personal information is collected until you first register on our Catalog Page to begin your ordering process, or fill out a request/reservation form.  While you can prevent your browser from accepting cookies, cookies enable you to take full advantage of some of our features.  (If you are having problems keeping items in your “shopping cart,” you may have blocked cookies from our website.) 

We will not share the personal information you provide on the SRF Websites with any other parties except to appropriate third parties with whom SRF engages to carry out or provide support for the operations of the sites and services to you.  The information you provide will not be sold or distributed to solicitors, telemarketers, or anyone.  And at no time do we send you unsolicited email.

SRF takes great care in maintaining the security of your personal information and in preventing unauthorized access to it through the use of industry-standard SSL technology.  This enables us to encrypt the personal and financial information you provide us when you make reservations or order online.  All information provided by you is secured and maintained confidentially.   Please keep in mind, however, that perfect security does not exist on the Internet.

By providing any personal information to the SRF site, all users fully understand and consent to the collection and processing of such information.

The terms of this policy will govern the use and any information collected while it is in place. SRF reserves the right to make changes to this policy.  The revised Privacy Policy will be displayed via a link on the home page of our sites.   Changes to this privacy policy are effective as of the stated “Last Update Date” and your continued use of this site on or after the Last Update Date will constitute acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, those changes.
