Chanting for Deep Meditation With Sri Durga Mata
Announcing a new publication from Self-Realization Fellowship
This 72-page booklet presents archival recordings of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Cosmic Chants, and reminiscences of his life and teachings, by one of his early close disciples.
Sri Durga Mata (1903–1993) learned the art and spirit of yogic chanting directly from Paramahansa Yogananda during many years of personal association with him. Her performances of his chants—though not recorded with professional equipment—have a personal quality of focused devotion and meditative concentration that gives them a special power and appeal in leading the listener into deep meditation.
Contents include:
- Two audio CDs with selections from Paramahansa Yogananda’s Cosmic Chants performed by Sri Durga Mata (informally recorded, but digitally restored as much as possible)—along with excerpts from satsangas she conducted with SRF members over the years.
- Biographical sketch of Durga Mata’s life, with many photos
- Memorial tribute to Durga Mata by Sri Daya Mata
