Our dear Brother Bimalananda, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda for more than 60 years, passed away peacefully at the Self-Realization Fellowship Hidden Valley Ashram Center on Thursday, April 29, 2010. A longtime monk and minister of SRF, he was much beloved by the countless Self-Realization Fellowship members who were inspired by his joyous and pure-hearted dedication to God and Guru.
UPDATE – May 12, 2010:
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 15 at 1 p.m. at the SRF Glendale Temple to honor this loving disciple who gave so unselfishly to our Guru’s work, and to countless members and friends around the world. Doors to the main sanctuary will open at noon. We suggest that you plan to arrive early as parking is limited to the parking lot and surrounding streets. We also wanted to inform you that the filmmakers producing the documentary on the life and work of our Guru will be filming a portion of the memorial service, and they have assured us that they will be as unobtrusive as possible.
As we send our love and gratitude to Brother Bimalananda for the goodness and spirit of joyous service with which he inspired all, please join us now in prayers for this dear soul at his time of transition into the blessed realms of divine light and bliss.
