Sri Mrinalini Mata Extends Invitation to Participate in YSS Centennial Celebration

The President of India, Sri Pranab Mukherjee, received three monks of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India on July 30, 2016, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official presidential residence in New Delhi.

The YSS delegation was led by Swami Smaranananda, General Secretary of YSS. On behalf of SRF/YSS President and Sanghamata Sri Mrinalini Mata, he presented Sri Mukherjee with a letter of greeting, copies of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi in English and Bengali, and a DVD of the documentary Awake: The Life of Yogananda. Swami Smaranananda reported that, upon receiving the books, the President opened the English version and immediately became engrossed in reading it!

Sri Mrinalini Mata’s letter to the President concluded with the following words:

“Although Paramahansaji began his work in humble circumstances in Dihika, West Bengal in 1917, today his work spans all corners of the globe and includes more than 600 temples, retreats, ashrams and meditation centers. Next year will mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of YSS, and we would be deeply honored if you can grace our ashram with your presence during the centenary celebrations. On behalf of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship I send you my warm good wishes and prayers that God may guide and bless your service to Mother India.”
