IT Administrator

Position Summary:

  • IT Administrator is primarily a server/network/storage administrator position responsible for the operation, configuration, and support of SRF’s data center and network. Deployed technologies are primarily Cisco and HP networking equipment, HP servers, Microsoft Hyper-V and Server OS.
  • Performs other position-related tasks, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and MCSE: Server Infrastructure (or equivalent knowledge and experience) are required.
  • Six years’ experience with Windows Server in an Active Directory environment, with knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and later.
  • Good understanding of and operational experience with: Active Directory, SQL Server, IIS, Exchange Server, SharePoint, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Hyper-V, Firewalls, Symantec Backup Exec.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts/components such as network switches, wireless access points, routers, CSU/DSUs, TCP/IP, IP routing, Routing Protocols, DHCP, DNS, PKI, VPNs, SNMP, RADIUS, ACLs, VLANs, QoS, etc.
  • Experience with server hardware.
  • Experience managing and monitoring environmental systems such as Power Distribution, UPS, and cooling.
  • Awareness of industry best practices in the area of servers, networking, and security.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn new products and technologies.
  • Ability to turn general requirements into technical implementation steps.
  • Attention to technical detail.
  • The ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Windows 7 and later, especially knowledge areas that relate to workstation participation in the Active Directory domain and network applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor server backup systems. Perform routine data recoveries and recovery testing.
  • Monitor availability and performance of network servers and other equipment.
  • Perform LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot server/storage hardware issues, replace failed components.
  • Make firewall and ACL changes matching requirements.
  • Assist Infrastructure Architect in new technology implementations and migrations.
  • Learn newly installed technologies well enough to take ownership of routine operation and support.
  • Discovery and documentation tasks as assigned.
  • Distribute software and deploy software updates using the software distribution system (MS SCCM).
  • Perform routine operational tasks such as managing user accounts and granting access to files, services, applications, and databases.
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues that the IT Service Desk is unable to resolve.
  • Some occasional travel between locations (Southern California, primarily in LA area) is required.
  • Other position-related tasks, as assigned.

The applicant selected for this position must provide documentation of legal authorization to work in the United States. This position is based in Los Angeles and onsite presence is required from Monday to Friday. Working remotely is not an option.
